About Justine Siedle

I am a Melbourne based artist and Visual Art teacher. With a passion for Australian Art and Art History, and a strong interest in nature, it is no wonder I like getting out into the landscape to create my paintings.  What inspires me is the rhythms and patterns found in the landscape, as well as the songs the colours sing.

My underlying interests lie in environmental and colonial issues and sometimes my work may implicitly suggest these narratives. Recent interests are suburban recreation and natural habitats.

My studio work, reflects further experience in the field - playing with the disparities of memory and lived experience.

I am also a musician and occasionally delve into different subject matter.

I work in oil, watercolour and pastel and ceramics.
